AJ Floyd Obituary
AJ Floyd, 88, of Midland, GA died Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Robb Goodman officiating.
Mr. Floyd was born September 22, 1931 in Elba, AL son of the late Alto and Mattie Lou Wilson Floyd. He retired as a Foreman for Colonial Bakery. Mr. Floyd was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved pulling pranks, playing with his grandchildren, loved animals and enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. Mr. Floyd was a great husband, father and grandfather.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Warren Floyd, second wife, Jacqueline Layton Floyd, son, Glenn Warren Floyd, daughter, Becky Floyd Weeks, sister, Pauline Parker and brother, Jerry L. Floyd.
Survivors include his children, Sue Floyd Pettingill (Pat) of Midland, GA, Kay Layton Miller (Fred) of Canton, GA and Lynn Layton Knight (Ivan) of Talking Rock, GA, siblings, Perry A. Floyd of Columbus, GA, Louise Perry of Warren, MI, Janice Hill of Apopka, FL and Joan Sparks of Smiths Station, AL, grandchildren, Mandy Weeks Johnson (Steve) of Phenix City, AL, Alyssa Weeks Cook (Craig) of Fortson, GA, Brian Howard (Lindsey) of Columbus, GA, John Knight (Lori) of Stockbridge, GA, Melissa Knight Fowler of Stockbridge, GA, Scott Miller, Steven Miller (Heather) and Robyn Post (Paul) of Jasper, GA, great-grandchildren, Zach Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Carri Grace Johnson all of Phenix City, AL, Eli Walden, Jacob Cook, Cadence Cook all of Fortson, GA and Carson Cawthorne of Columbus, GA, many nieces and nephews, and many friends.
