Betty Lou Butler, 91, of Columbus, GA died Monday, May 23, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital.

A graveside service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Riverdale Cemetery with Chaplain Dean Snipes officiating. Family will receive friends 5:00-6:30PM Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Betty was born September 29, 1930 in Lagrange, GA to the late William C. Railey and Mary Hale Railey. She worked as a crossing guard for Muscogee County School District. She loved to crochet and watch T.V. especially Soap Operas, Old Westerns and Andy Griffith. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Dewitt Butler, child, Rebecca Christine Ashby, four siblings William C. Railey Jr., Edward Railey, Alice Lamb, and James A. Railey.

She is survived by her children, Debra Gavens of Columbus, GA, Lisa Liles (Leroy) of Columbus, GA, Ronald Butler of Columbus, GA, sister, Gayle Shirley of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Ashley Gavens of Cummings, GA, Jon Gavens, II, of Fortson, GA, great-grandchildren, Jacob Gavens and Jack Gavens
