Bobbie Bowens Jr.

Mr. Bobbie Bowens Jr., 54, died quietly on Friday, April 28, 2023, from esophagus cancer, at North Ridge Health and Rehab in New Hope, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, May 12, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Donnie McCoy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Bobbie was born February 26, 1969 a native of Gary, Indiana, son of Maggie Bowens Freeman and the late Bobbie Bowens Sr. He was baptized at an early age and attended New Hope Baptist Church in Gary, Ind. He accepted the teachings of Jesus Christ and valued his relationship with God. He was employed by Walmart for over a decade as a supervisor, he was a dedicated associate and fondly remembered by his peers. He enjoyed the life of an advanced gaming competitor. He married his beloved wife, Roseline Ojo January 11, 2020 and she remained by his side.

He is survived by his wife, Roseline Ojo, mother, Maggie Bowens Freeman, stepfather Roosevelt Freeman, sons, Derrick Bowen, Aaron Bowen, Kalean Lee, sisters, Gnoria R. Bowens, sister-in-law, Loya Bowens, Vernishia Kareema Ali-Bowens, cousin Lynn Bowens Pearson, grandchildren, Yarieah Bowens, Aaron Bowens Jr., Ahmad Bowens, Arianna Ahmir Bowens, lifelong best friend, Dawn Collins, Godchildren, Charles Jackson, Madison Collins and a host of other relatives and friends.
