Candice Jones Obituary

Candice Lyn Brown Jones, 43, of Smiths Station, AL died Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, AL. On that day family and friends experienced how truly fragile life can be when one of the most kind-hearted and loving people most of us have ever had the privilege of knowing suddenly became an angel.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, August 27, 2021 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. Matt Adams officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Candice Lyn Brown Jones was born in Panama City, Florida on February 18, 1978 to Sue Ann and Emmett Brown and grew up over the Southern-most parts of Georgia and Alabama. Columbus, GA, Geneva, AL and Phenix City, AL were all places that Candice would call home over the years with each place holding a special place in her heart.

Candice married the love of her life and forever sweetheart, Todd Jones, on March 30, 2012.Together they had their son, Justin, whom she loved so deeply with all of her heart.  The three of them built a beautiful life together, always dreaming up future goals and memories to be made as a family.

Candace started as a server at Country’s Barbecue and worked her way up to dining room manager. Along the way, she made life-long friends. In pursuit of personal growth and a new career, she fell in love with the dental field.  Candice started her journey by becoming a certified Dental Assistant and then secured a wonderful job and office family working for Dr. Adams at Adams Family Dentistry in Columbus, Georgia.  Wanting to push herself even further, Candice applied to and was of a select few who were chosen for and accepted into Dental Hygiene School. She was preparing to graduate in the Spring of 2022 and begin the career of her dreams as a Hygienist.

Candice had an unwavering faith in the Lord, which many deeply admired. She drew strength and guidance from daily devotionals and scriptures living her life faithfully and to its fullest.  Candice was always up for adventure, a challenge, and experiences that would later make for the best stories.Blue Mountain Beach and Black Creek were two places that she could truly find peace. Being in these places, on the water, with friends and family brought her so much joy and happiness. Candice was best known for her vibrant personality and her smile that could light up any room.  She made friends everywhere she would go and, quite literally, never met a stranger. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, and friend and will be forever missed each and every single day.

Candice is survived by her husband Todd Jones, son Justin Jones, her mother Sue Ann Knight, her step-father Rob Knight, her sister ChristyBrown Shue, her brother-in-law Jeff Shue, and her niece Skylar O’Keefe.
