Carol Mackler-Teeter Obituary

Carol Diane Mackler-Teeter went to heaven and her final resting place on May 7, 2022 in Columbus, Georgia.

No services will be held according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Carol was born on March 31, 1947 in Greenville, GA, to the late Earnest and Willene McCoy.

Carol graduated from high school in Columbus, Georgia after which she married Leonard Mackler, Deceased, and they moved to Alaska in 1974. She went to work for the city of Fairbanks Municipal Utility System steam generating and electrical power plant as a parts coordinator and payroll clerk. She retired from that position in 2000 and married her present husband John F. Teeter who also worked shortly with her in 1974 at the Municipal Utilities System in Fairbanks Alaska. They were both avid outdoors people and enjoyed many trips in their camper to Canada and areas of Alaska. Carol was also an Avid gardener and loved to grow her flowers, she spent many hours pulling weeds from her flower beds and enjoyed every minute of it. Carol’s hobby was also into Antique Collecting and she never saw an Antique Mall she didn’t like. She has a very large collection of Antiques and Dolls.

Carol was noted for her love of animals of all kinds. In Alaska for over 30 years she had her approximately 40 Goldfish which she would put into her small outdoors pond beside her garden around 1st of May and bring them back inside around September 1st to their winter home in the garage which consisted of two bathtubs with filtering system. She convinced her present husband , John, to dig a much larger ponds at their home in Georgia where they could enjoy viewing from their rear porch, she planted numerous water lilies in that pond along with stocking with fish. She used her Garden abilities along with ideas and help from her cousins to plant numerous Roses, Iris’s, Daffodils and other shrubs around the pond to create a thing of beauty. She found and rescued her little dog Dweezie, who was always beside her whether in the house, outside in the yard, or on the airplane going back and forth to Alaska and she loved all animals.

She leaves behind her (ROCK) Husband, John, of 22 Years and numerous Cousins, nieces and nephews and Many Dear Friends in the Georgia area as well as her Numerous Friends in Fairbanks, Alaska and lastly her dear friends in New Zealand.

Those who wish may make a donation to the Emory University Winship Cancer Center, Atlanta, GA.
