Earl Bowden Neel, Jr. 74, of Hamilton Georgia died Friday, March 12, 2021 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown due to complications from Covid 19.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 11, 2021 from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Georgia. The family requests guests drive through the Porte Cache of the funeral home to greet them and offer condolences to limit exposure.
Earl was born August 11, 1946 in Columbus, Georgia, son of the late Earl Bowden Neel, Sr. and Peggy Griffith Lupo. Earl served in the U. S. Air Force and continued his life of service as a Police officer with the Columbus Police Department. After his retirement, he worked with the Muscogee County School District as a resource officer.
Anyone that knew Earl knows that his three boys, Jeff, Brad, and Matt (and the grandchildren) meant the world to him. Recently, he discovered he had a daughter, Crystal Snellgrove, 55 of Ocala, FL. Earl was grateful to have her and his family in his life and loved them dearly.
Earl enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing, his motorcycles and cars, his family and friends, and life in general. He had an infectious smile and was loved by so many. Other than his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey William Neel.
Survivors include his children; Brad Neel of Lakeland, FL., Matt Neel of Senoia, GA. and Crystal Snellgrove Ocala, FL. Brothers: Richard Lupo of Parrott, GA and Donald Lupo of Preston, GA as well and numerous beloved Grandchildren.
