Ella Ferrell Obituary
Ella Carolyn Pearson Ferrell, 97, of Columbus, GA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 9, 2015 at Spring Harbor.
A private memorial service was held at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn Park Cemetery North Mausoleum on Saturday, November 14, 2015. Reverend Mike Campbell of Old Cutler Presbyterian officiated according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Carolyn Ferrell was born on May 18, 1918 to William Edward & Ada Belle Pearson in Louisville, KY. At three years old, Carolyn lost her mother in an auto accident. Her father re-married Marian Rhau Pearson. She grew up in the family business, Pearson Funeral Home in Louisville, KY. Carolyn graduated from Ward Belmont in 1938 in Nashville, TN.
She married George K. "Sonny" Haas in 1941, and moved to Miami, FL after the war, where they raised their three children. They were founding members of St Thomas Episcopal Church in Miami, FL. She later married Milton M. Ferrell, Sr. in 1968.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton M. Ferrell, Sr., brothers, Clyde A. Pearson and Paul Pearson, half-sister, Martha Pearson, step-sister, Ruth Morris Young, son, G. Kirk Haas, and step-son, Milton M. Ferrell, Jr.
She is survived by daughter, Dana Haas Freeman (Andy) of Columbus, GA, son, Eric Taylor Haas (Lori) of Miami, FL, step-daughters, Ann Ferrell, Bebe Ferrell McClain (Bill), and Lori Ferrell, grandchildren, Jonathan A. Miller (Mary), Andrew P. Miller (Becca), Carolyn Miller Scruggs (Jon), Meghan M. Hetfield, Taylor E. Haas, and great-granddaughter, Lillian Ella Miller.
Carolyn touched many lives with her beautiful smile that accompanied the many gospel tracts that she passed to countless friends, and strangers.
The family is grateful for the love and support of Martha Ann Haas, and Pamela Poulos. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jamaal Mohyuddan, and the loving staff at Spring Harbor.
