Elleen Murphy Riles

Elleen Murphy Riles, 87, of Columbus, GA passed away May 17, 2022, at Orchard View.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, May 20, 2022, at New Vision Christian Ministries Church in Waverly Hall, GA, with her nephew Pastor Glenn Presley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Mrs. Riles was born March 1, 1935, in LaGrange, GA, to the late Otis and Ellen Murphy. Mrs. Riles was a member of New Vision Christian Ministries Church in Waverly Hall, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years William T. “Mr. Bill” Riles; by sisters Nora Mae Presley and Ruby Melton; and by brothers, Walter Murphy, David Murphy and Curtis Murphy.

After retiring from her work in healthcare, she was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She especially loved cooking for all of them and spoiling them.

Survivors include her son, William E. "Billy" Riles (Cindy) of Box Springs, GA; daughters, Diane Thurman (Dr. Lavon) of Hamilton, GA, and Donna Post (Mark) of Cataula, GA; grandchildren, Brittany Powell (Jonathon), Drew McNeil (Dakota), Jamie Clark, Katie Searcy (Dillon), and Shelby Fuller (Zack); great grandchildren Zac Powell, Carson Powell, Colton Powell, Zoe Powell, Cason McNeil, Caroline McNeil, Mills Searcy, Watson Searcy; and the one she called “her other son,” Curtis Burris(Kim).
