Ernestine Pope Rolison, 73, a lifetime resident of Columbus, Ga, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Columbus Hospice. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 21st at McMullen Funeral Home from 5:30 -7:30. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 22nd at 2:00 at St. Paul United Methodist Church. The family will have a private burial at Parkhill Cemetery following the service.
E.P. was born September 22, 1947. She was a 1965 graduate of Jordan Vocational High School. She spent her work career at CB&T, Woodruff Company, and retiring from TSYS in 2009. She met no stranger and lived life to the fullest. E. P. loved her family and her daily activities involved her beloved grandchildren Bailey Pettis (23) and Cole Pettis (20). She would not miss an event from cheerleading to baseball and everything in between. To know E.P. was to love her and her outgoing spirit. She wanted to be involved with everything and “in the know”. If you knew her well, you would even encounter her opinionated side. She was not afraid to tell it like it is. E.P. was a member of Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church where she served as the Administrative Council Secretary, Flower Team Member, and Vacation Bible School Registration Team Leader.
E.P. was a loving mother to sons Allen Pettis and Jason Pettis and their spouses Tracy and Holly. She was always involved in their daily lives and their friends and families. She will be missed by many.
E.P. was preceded in death by her daddy, Brady Allen Pope and husband Billy Joe (B.J.) Rolison. She is survived by her mother Lillie Mae Pope and children Allen (Tracy) and Jason (Holly) and grandchildren Bailey Pettis and Cole Pettis and a sister Marjean (James) Waters and numerous nieces and nephews.
