Felicia Druash Turner Obituary

Felicia Turner, 96, passed away peacefully at her home in Columbus, GA, on Monday, October 12, 2020.

 A visitation will be held 3:00-4:00 PM Sunday, October 18, 2020 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Burial will be held at a later date in Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Maryland. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 face coverings and social distancing will be required during the visitation.

Felicia was born February 17, 1924 in Bayonne, New Jersey. She was the eldest child of Frank William, and Josephine Elvira DeCarlo Greco. Felicia graduated from Bayonne High School and continued her education at Maryland College for Women, graduating in 1945 with a B.A. in Elementary Education. While living in Maryland, she met and married Alex Elia Druash, and they raised seven children. The family moved south in the 1950’s, first to Folkston, GA, and then on to Gainesville, FL. Upon moving to Columbus in 1967, she worked at JC Penney’s and then she began a long career in real estate, starting in the early 1970’s. Felicia absolutely LOVED the beach, and spent many days at Panama City Beach, FL. She was also passionate about painting, creating pottery, antique shopping and knitting. Felicia and her friends at Covenant Woods knitted blankets and hats for the preemie babies in the local hospitals. She loved working crossword puzzles and reading murder mysteries. Her favorite color was purple and her favorite flowers were purple iris’. She also loved collecting pink flamingos and sea turtles. Felicia was Roman Catholic for all of her life, and was a member of St. Anne Church in Columbus. Felicia was preceded in death by both her parents, sister Rose Greco, one brother William “Bill” R. Greco Sr., her husband Alex E. Druash, and one son, Paul Druash.

She is survived by six of her children: Alex F. Druash (Pat) of Stafford ,VA, Mark Druash (Jacqueline) of Tallahassee, FL, Denis Drahus (Turi) of Oslo, Norway, Mary “Susie” Satterwhite of Columbus, GA, Joseph “Joe” Druash of Columbus, GA, and Pamela “Pam” Kirkland of Columbus, GA, as well as 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one brother Ronald Greco of Ft. Collins ,CO, and several nephews and nieces, especially Jan Greco Keister. She is also survived by her loving dog, Puppy, who was always by her side. We would like to thank the wonderful caregivers and the nurses of Columbus Hospice who assisted Mom during these last weeks.
