George Henry Jones

George Henry Jones, 69, of Cataula, GA died Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Piedmont Northside.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Golden Park Stadium with Rev. Tim Jones and Rev. Roger Morrison officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we encourage everyone to make the best decisions to remain safe. George was born September 4, 1952 in Columbus, GA to the late George Weaver and Mary Helen Jones. He worked in sales at Empire Distributors. He was a member of Britt David Baptist Church, enjoyed cooking, working and yard work. He loved watching the Atlanta Braves ,Georgia Bulldogs and coaching Babe Ruth little league in Harris County.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joan “Joni” Jones of Cataula, GA, children; Jessica Jones of Columbus, GA, Garrett George Jones of Columbus, GA, sister, Diane Campo of Tuttle, OK, grandchild, Parker Alan Jones of Cataula, GA/Monroe, GA, mother-in-law Elizabeth C Watkins, of Cataula, GA, sisters-in-law, Donna Thigpen (Ed) Midland GA, Linda Osborne Dallas TX, Teresa Hardage (Todd) La Grange GA numerous, nieces, nephews and other family members.
