Gertrude "Trudy" Crockett Wade

Gertrude “Trudy”  Crockett Wade, 84, of Columbus passed away at Piedmont Northside Hospital Saturday, November 13, 2021, after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Trinity Episcopal Church 1130 First Ave. Columbus, Georgia 31901 with Rev. Timothy H. Graham, Rector officiating. The family will receive friends following the services in the Parish Hall at Trinity Episcopal. A private Interment will be held according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Georgia 31907

Trudy was born February 17,1937 in Nashville, Tennessee to  William Penn Crockett and Gertrude Treanor Crockett. She attended the University of Georgia and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She was a devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Church for many years. She was an active member of several committees in the church and especially enjoyed being a part of the Prayer Guild. Trudy was a member of the Daughters of the King as she loved to spread God's word with others. Trudy was a talented artist and loved sharing her beautiful works with family and friends.

Trudy is survived by her brother Robert Penn Crockett, III of Sacramento, California; son, George Emmett Wade, III and his wife Alice; daughter, Cissy Clark and her husband Will; grandchildren Virginia Suggs and her husband Austin, Elizabeth Alter and her husband, Jay of Darien, CT, Gwen Van Ingen, George Emmett Wade, IV,  William Andrew Wade and Wesley Crockett Wade, all of Columbus Ga.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Trudy, are so graciously appreciated by her family, and may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church 1130 First Ave. Columbus, Georgia 31901.
