Horace Stalnaker Obituary
Horace D. Stalnaker, 82, of Columbus, GA, died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Billy Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Tallassee, AL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
Mr. Stalnaker was born on January 16, 1933 in Tallassee, AL to the late Marion Porter Stalnaker and Ozella McGarr Stalnaker. He retired from Columbus Carpet Mills in senior management and was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955 and was a graduate of Auburn University, earning an industrial management degree. Mr. Stalnaker was an avid golfer, skilled wood worker and an Auburn University football fan.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Gloria Jane Daniel Stalnaker; son, Gregory Alan Stalnaker (Jennifer) of Newnan, GA; daughter, Susan Kimberly Stalnaker of Alpharetta, GA.; sister, Virginia Worthington (Bill) of Dunwoody, GA.; and mother-in-law Rose Taunton Daniel of Tallassee, AL.
