Inge Ida Brown

 Inge Ida Brown 84, of Columbus, Georgia died Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at her residence.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, September 19, 2020 in Union United Methodist Church Cemetery 3838 Hwy. 41 South Buena Vista, Georgia 31803 with Rev. Dr. Shirley Redmond and Rev. Charles “Chuck” Hasty, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, September 18, 2020 from 4:00 to 5:30 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga. 31907.

In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory will be following the recommendations set forth by the Columbus Consolidated Government and Governor Brian Kemp by requiring face coverings and social distancing at the visitation and graveside service.

Mrs. Brown was born June 17, 1936 in Sennfeld, Germany daughter of the late Lorenz and Lina Barthelmess Kümpel. She was a life - long member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church and a founding member and past President of the Heimat Land Club. Mrs. Brown loved to knit and bake for her family and friends. Her door was always open for a cup of coffee, piece of cake or just a good conversation.

Other than her parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death her husband Franklin D. “Frank Brown.

Survivors include her children; Jean Horn, Judy Harrison, Frank Brown and Patty Murray; siblings, Günter Kümpel, Jürgen Kümpel, grandchildren; Maggie Horn, Alex Horn, Kati Horn, Kyle Phillips, Elizabeth Brown, Caroline Brown, Bennett Murray and her great-granddaughter Adriana Horn.
