James Highnote Obituary

James Mack Highnote, beloved Daddy and Papa, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
The family will receive friends and family Tuesday evening, January 25, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Parkhill Cemetery.
Mr. Mack Highnote was born April 3, 1935 in Buena Vista, GA, son of the late George Felton Highnote and Ruth Jordan. He loved his mama, the only cook he dared not critique, and his two late brothers, Henry and Herbert Highnote.
The family finds comfort in trusting that Mack is now reunited with his wife of 54 years, the late Marie Huff Highnote.
Mack served in the United States Army, Private First Class, and played the french horn in the 5th Infantry Division Band. He graduated from Georgia State College with a degree in Business Administration in 1960. Mack worked as an accountant at Bickerstaff, later Boral Bricks, and truly enjoyed and respected his colleagues.
In his spare time, Mack enjoyed working with his hands and being at the lake. Whether he was taking apart and reassembling computers, working with his tools, tweaking a car engine, or riding his wave runner with "the river rats," moving and time outdoors is what he loved.
He leaves behind two daughters, Carol Highnote Savory (Carl), and Jan Highnote, son, Ronnie Highnote (Wendy) all of Columbus, GA, three grandchildren, Kelly Sinquefield Marth (Will) of Nashville, TN, SSgt Blake Muncy United States Army (Alexandra), and Captain Sam Highnote United States Air Force, and three great-grandchildren, Charlie Marth, Mae Marth and Lochlan Muncy, who brought him so much joy.
The family requests that those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Paws Humane Society, 4900 Milgen Rd. Columbus, GA 31907, in Mack Highnote's name.
