James R. Cole

James R. Cole 82, of Midland, Georgia died Friday, September 10, 2021 at his residence in Midland, Georgia.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Evangel Temple Assembly of God Church 5350 Veterans Pkwy, Columbus, Georgia 31904. The family will receive friends following the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Georgia 31907.

James was born November 13, 1938 in Columbus, Georgia son of the late James Walter and Gladys Snellgrove Cole. For the past 50 years, he was the owner and operator of James Cole Plumbing. While attending Evangel Temple Assembly of God Church, James was active with the Maps Missionary Program. James loved fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle. In 2010, James became a part of the brotherhood of Scott’s Miracle Riders. Each year, the Miracle Riders raise money for not only Piedmont Columbus Regional Pediatrics but Columbus State University Pediatric Nursing Program. His health may have kept him here, but his heart and soul will always be remembered within the miracle riders.

Other than his parents, James was preceded in death by his son Ron Cole and grandson J.C. Cole.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Linda Cole of Midland, Georgia, his children, Sam Cole and Darrell Cole both of Columbus, Georgia, his sister, Sandra and Fred Haymaker of Winchester, Virginia, his grandchildren, Samuel Cole, Lindsey Childers and his great-grandchildren, Hunter, Hudson, Houston, Mikenzie, Blair and Braxton.

James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, cousin and uncle and will be missed by everyone.
