Juanita Polston Obituary
Juanita Wright Polston, 84, of Columbus, GA passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Midtown Medical Center, Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church, Columbus, GA with Reverends Howard White and Lynn Meadows-White officiating. Private burial will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, March 9, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Polston was born on November 30, 1930, in Graceville, FL, daughter of Robert Malcolm and Rubye Teal Wright. She was a graduate of Poplar Springs High School in Graceville, FL. She obtained her beauty license and began her career as a beautician at Kirven's Department Store and later owned and operated Continental Hair Stylist in Columbus.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria Jean Rolison, a sister, Joann Stafford and two brothers, Robert O'Neal and James Ray Wright . Her spouse, Wilmer "Buck" Polston passed away in September of 2014.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah (Rick) Newman; stepdaughters, Elsie (W.C.) Hall and Linda (Ross) McCain; and sisters, Maxine Howard, Brenda (Ken) Napier and Oleta (Lewis) Brown. The joy of her life were her grandchildren, Michelle (Tim) Smith, Stephanie (Alfred) Torres, Kim (Trey) Douglas, Rusty (Michelle) Law and J.J. Rolison and her great grandchildren, McKenzie and Mallory Smith, Carley, Garrett and Parker Douglas and Anthony, Adam and Abigail Torres.
Her church family at Pierce Chapel meant the world to her also. Flowers will be accepted; however, those wishing to make a memorial contribution may send to Pierce Chapel UMC Building Fund, 5122 Pierce Chapel Road, Midland, GA 31820.
