Kenneth Ray Thurmond

Kenneth Ray Thurmond, 61, of Columbus, GA, died June 8, 2023 at Columbus Hospice House.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Reverend Gary Long officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church, 7807 Lee Road 246, Smith Station, AL 36877 according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga. 31907.

Kenneth was born March 12, 1962 in Opelika, Al to the late James David Thurmond and Evelyn Kimbrough Thurmond. He loved hunting, fishing, and traveling. Kenneth loved his family, never met a stranger and was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Johnnie William Thurmond.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Nell Thurmond of Smith Station, AL, daughters, Jacquelynn Tiffany Thurmond and Tabatha Jean Thurmond of Columbus, GA, step- daughter, Dawn Wood of Smith Station, AL, grandchildren, Trinity Dalelynn Thurmond of Columbus, GA, Trevor Dean Crossen of Columbus, GA, Jeffery Raymond Gordon Greene of Columbus, GA, Joseph Wood Smiths Station, AL, Austin Wood of Smith Station, AL, brother, Horace Thurmond (Tina) of Cusseta, GA, sister, Joyce Holt (Raymond) of Newport TN, Nephew Tobe Thurmond of Columbus, GA.
