Larry Eugene Jones, 82, of Columbus, GA, died Tuesday, September 28th, 2021 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Northside.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 4th, 2021, in the chapel of McMullen Funeral home and Crematory with Rev. Lynn Meadows-White officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Interment will be held at 3:00 PM in Arlington, GA. Masks will be required at request of the family to attend the services.
Larry was born March 12th, 1939 in Arlington, GA to the late Reuben Jones and Mattie Lou Cooke Jones. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Helen Palmer, brother, Harold Jones, daughter, Allison Odom, and brother-in-laws Bernard Peavey and Roy Palmer.
He was the owner and operator of Regency Pest Control and the owner of Columbus Termite and Pest Control. He was an active member of AA in the Phenix City and Columbus area helping a lot of people with sobriety. He was a member of Sherwood United Methodist Church and Edgewood United Methodist Church. He was passionate about helping others, giving of his time and resources, however he could. He also loved spending time with his family and his dogs, watching westerns, and sitting on the porch watching the birds.
He is survived by his wife Susan York Jones of Columbus, GA, children, Larry Jones (Donna) of Columbus, GA, Laura Wilkins (Mike) of Athens, TN, Craig Treusdell (Kendell) of Ellerslie, GA, Karen Courvelle (Jessie) of Columbus, GA, and sister Janice Peavey of Blakely, GA along with grandchildren: John Paul Jones of Columbus, GA, Heather Hammond of Columbus, GA, Garrett Wilkins of Athens, TN, Timothy Wilkins of Fresno, California, Katie Wright of Columbus, GA, Adyson Courvelle of Columbus, GA, Hudson Courvelle of Columbus, GA, and Landon Courvelle of Columbus, GA, Jared Treusdell of Midland, GA, and Nicole Treusdell of Midland, GA, great-grandchildren Josh Wilkins and Jordan Wilkins, both of Fresno, CA, as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews.
