Leslie Talley Obituary

Leslie Anne Talley, 27, of Columbus, died Thursday, March 25, 2021.

Visitation will be at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907, Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, facemasks and social distancing will be required.

Leslie was born April 16, 1993, in Columbus, to Amy Lenore Talley. She had a beautiful, loving heart and tried to help others, without ever considering her own circumstances. She was friendly, giving, outgoing, fearless (to a fault), sympathetic, and fragile. She loved Taco Bell, pickle juice, potato soup, being warm when it was cold and being cool when it was hot. She made and cherished lifetime friendships from Coweta Drive. She thought her knees were just hideous and laughed when Daltry said she didn’t have a forehead, she had a fivehead.  She adored riding with her Mother with the music turned up loud. She loved the beach and the sun and laughing at funny movies like Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, where Dewey becomes smell blind after a childhood trauma. She cried when she watched The Pianist. Leslie loved her family, both biological and those she chose as family. She would cry if she saw any dog who was without love or food. She ached when she knew someone was lost or lonely or hurt. She loved to shop but really didn’t value “stuff”. She valued people. Leslie loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, in whom she put her trust. She fought a long, relentless battle with addiction … and finally lost.

Left to grieve her and cherish her memory are her mother, Amy Lenore Talley, her sister Gabriela Gossett of Arizona, Uncles David, Bert (Holly), and Damon (Julia), her aunt Meggie, her cousins Savannah (Alex) Overby, Steven, Paul Burkhardt, and Ellis, and step-grandparents Linn & Bill Storey. She was preceded in death by her Nanaw, Babs Talley, and her aunt Laura Anne (who shared a rabid devotion to Alabama football). She also leaves her very best friend, Abigail Layfield, special friends Sandy & Allen Ward, Tyler & Lydia Ward, Hunter (Heather) Ward, Lacey (Garrett) Bosely, Daltry Legg, Jared Thomas, Josh Leonard, and John Cox, and so many other friends and extended family.
