Mitzi Holmes Crow

Mitzi Holmes Crow succumbed to an aggressive cancer on Feb. 25, 2021, after a 5 month struggle.

A memorial service will be held at a later date once it’s safe to gather with family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga. 31907. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.mcmullenfuneralhome.com

She was a wonderful woman, magnificent wife, proud mother and great educator. She was a classroom instructor and media specialist at Ft. Benning Schools for 34 years and an adjunct professor at CSU in the Education Dept. for 18 years. Mitzi always provided a warm, safe and comfortable home for her family. Over the years, her love was easy to see as she taught and encouraged thousands of children and adults. She loved her purses and shoes almost as much. Seldom did she go anywhere she couldn’t find an adornment to enrich herself, her family or her home. She rarely failed to provide a story or opinion on any topic at hand. And, she was always a ready ear for hardships befalling her friends. She will be sorrowfully missed, but sweetly remembered, by her family and friends.

She is predeceased by her father Otis Ray Holmes and mother Peggy Ann Holmes.

She is survived by her husband Loyd G Crow III of Midland, GA  her son, Chandler Crow of Atlanta, GA, brother Dr. Steve Holmes ( Rebecca ) of Honolulu, HI, uncle Dr. William Oakley ( Dody ) of Rocky Mount, NC, nephew Michael Holmes ( Nataliya ) of Honolulu, HI, niece Dr. Laura Holmes ( Kellan ) of Manhattan Beach, CA, niece Emalie Holmes of Atlanta, GA, brother-in-law Greg Crow ( Lisa ) of Ellerslie, GA, and brother-in-law Don Crow of Columbus, GA, as well as many cousins and their families.
