Miye Yun Obituary

Miye Clara Yun
Beloved mother and wife
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing to eternal life of Miye Clara Yun of Columbus, Georgia on April 13, 2020 at her residence in the 58th year of her life.
Miye was born February 15, 1962 in Seoul, South Korea, to the late Mun Suk Kang and Duckja Shin. She earned a degree in Environmental Studies while attending college in Korea. She moved to Texas in 1995 and has resided in Georgia since the year 2000.
Miye is remembered as a most supportive wife and extraordinary mother and will be deeply missed. She is known to many for her beautiful smile and generous heart that lives on forever in our hearts. Her presence in all settings served as a light and calm that we appreciated each day. As a mother, she never missed a piano audition or recital, which reflected her immeasurable love and dedication to raising her daughter, Pomi. She had talents that ranged from quilting the most delicate pieces to singing in traveling church choirs. We will always remember her famous cheesecake, which she enjoyed sharing with those around her. She found beauty and joy in the outdoors of hiking the mountains of Korea and watching the autumn foliage. Her appreciation of travel and art history took her around the world - her favorite stop being the Swiss Alps. Throughout her life though, she most enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and always said there was no place quite like home. She was a devout parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church for many years.
Miye is survived by her husband of 29 years, Kiwon Yun of Columbus, GA; her adored daughter, Pomi Yun of Athens, GA; her mother, Duckja Shin; younger sister, Miyoung Kang; brothers, Yongsoon and Youngmo Kang; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. She leaves behind an enduring legacy of love and devotion to her family, community and her church. She will be remembered as aninspiration of grace and deep faith to others. She had an endlessly giving heart and cared so deeply for others which assured many wonderful friendships and a life well lived.
We would like to thank family and friends for celebrating Miye's life both near and far during this difficult time. We know that heaven has gained an angel who is looking after us each day moving forward.
"Death is nothing else but going home to God, the bond of love will be unbroken for all eternity."
- Mother Theresa
