Mona was born on April 21, 1932, in the vibrant city of Sendai, Japan, to the late Kasakich Suzuki and Matuchio Kahriyama. Her life was characterized by her deep commitment to her family and her faith. As a young woman, she pursued some college education, which laid a foundation for the wisdom and understanding she would carry throughout her life. Her role as a homemaker was a testament to her loving nature, and she embraced the responsibilities of being a devoted Army wife with unparalleled dedication. Her late husband, SSG Harvey Sutherland Jr., alongside their children and grandchildren, were the cherished focus of her nurturing love.

Her gentle spirit was a source of solace, and her selfless acts of kindness left an indelible mark on the hearts of those around her. Her involvement in bible study reflected her enduring faith and her desire to live a life guided by love and compassion.

Her approach to life was a living example of her loving, gentle, and selfless nature, which endeared her to all who had the privilege of crossing her path.

Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Harvey Sutherland, Jr., son-in-law, Fred Bonner and granddaughter, Kelly A. Butler

Powell (Milton) of Cataula, GA, Frances Bonner of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Bryan Hatcher (Kimberly) of Logansport, IN, Michael Harmon of Columbus, GA, Rachael Bonner of Columbus, GA, Christopher Watson of Columbus, GA, Haley K.
