Pamela Jean Petty Barfield, age 56, of Fortson, slipped into Jesus’ arms on Monday, June 6, 2022, surrounded by her children and sisters.
Pam was born October 15, 1965 in Columbus, Georgia. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1983 and spent many years as a nail tech at several different salons. She loved her children, grandchildren, and extended family immensely, as well as greatly enjoyed spending time with her friends. Pam had many passions including tending to her flowers in her garden, traveling to St. George Island with family, dancing to her favorite music, enjoying coffee on her porch, drawing, painting, and taking in nature. She was a cherished mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and especially Suggie to her grandkids. She will be greatly missed by all who came to know and love her.
Pam was preceded in death by her father Frank Petty, mother Betty Weldy, grandparents, Huey Bolan, Alma Bolan, Walt Brogdon, and Mattie Brogdon, stepsister Melissa Smith, and nephew Colby Hooper.
Pam is survived by her children, David“Trey” Barfield (Danielle), Tricia Bennett (Brennon), and Trent Barfield (Caitlyn); grandchildren Ava Cook, Ali Cook, Kendall Barfield, and Cooper Barfield; sisters, Sandy Rodriguez (Ruperto), Angie Tidman (Edward), and Amanda Collier (Andrew), as well as stepmother Sue Petty. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved her dearly.
The family will host a Celebration of Life per Pam’s wishes at a later date according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Details for the Celebration will be announced when available.
