Rex Milner Obituary

Rex Rigdon Milner, 57, resident of Fortson and former resident of Columbus, Georgia and Jackson Hole, Wyoming, passed away on October 19 at Columbus Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer, in the loving care and embrace of his wife Susanne, daughter Savannah, mother Alice, sister Chris Cramer, and many other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, October 23, 2015 at Edgewood Baptist Church 3564 Forrest Road Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend Andy Merritt officiating. Interment will follow to Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Pall bearers are Jim Battles, Carl Cramer IV, Chris Hardwick, Darrell Hester, Greg Koch, Riley Morris, Mike Rabon, and Mark Robinson. Honorary pall bearers are Dr. Bill Adams, Carl Cramer Jr., Dan Mangold, Ryan Williams, Kyle Wright, and Steve Wright.

Rex, son of the late Harvey Milner and mother Alice, was born November 7, 1957. He was retired from a 38-year career as a nurse with St. Francis Hospital in Columbus where he was Director of Patient Care. Rex, a graduate of Columbus High School and Columbus State University, was a lifelong outdoorsman and gentleman in the true Southern tradition.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years Susanne Milner and daughter Savannah of Fortson; mother Alice Milner of Columbus; sister Chris and husband Carl Cramer Jr. and their children Carl Cramer IV and wife Ashley Cramer of Dallas, Georgia; Christen Tucker and husband Patrick Tucker of Marietta, Georgia; mother-in-law Elisabeth Koch of Fortson; brother-in-law Gregory Koch, wife Pamela, and their children Matthew and Anna of Atlanta; and many loving family and friends.
