SFC (Ret) Franklin Lee Brown

SFC (Ret) Franklin Lee Brown, 90, of Midland, GA died Sunday, May 14, 2023 at his residence.

A graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, May 22, 2023 at Andersonville National Cemetery, 496 Cemetery Road Andersonville, GA 31711. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday, May 21, 2023 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Franklin was born February 6, 1933 in Social Circle, GA to the late Early Brown and Ida Hancock Brown. Franklin served in the US Army for 22 years as a Sargent First Class before he retired in 1968. He continued to serve the community as a police officer, Fire Chief and pastor.

He was a member the Disabled American Veterans, the National Order of Trench Rats, the Masonic lodge and a Shriner. He was also an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed woodworking, keeping up with current events, but most all he enjoyed watching he grandchildren play sports, dance, play music and sing. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Dale Brown of Blakely, GA and daughter, Roseanne Eubanks of Shellman.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Deloria Glover Brown of Midland, GA, son, Marlon Brown (Pam) of Buford, GA, daughters, Wanda Teal of Eufaula, AL, Rebecca Todd of Albany, GA, grandchildren, Andrea Brown, Cayce Blum, Blake Favors, Justin Brown, Caitlyn Brown, Collin Brown, Jennifer Todd, Matthew Todd, Logan Todd, Emily Eubanks and 10 great grandchildren.
