Timothy "Tim" King Obituary

Timothy “Tim” Paul King, 71, of Salem, AL, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the Bethany House in Auburn, AL.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 29, 2024 at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 3800 Highway 280, 4310 N AL-1, Phenix City, AL 36867 with Rev. Bud Passmore officiating, according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Tim was born on November 26, 1952, in Columbus, GA, to the late Earnest and Helen King. Tim's early education took place at Jordan Vocational High School, where he laid the groundwork for what would become a successful career. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to become the respected business owner and operator of Hydra-Fab in Phenix City, AL, where his leadership and expertise were invaluable. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church Since 1991 and Jesus was his Lord and Savior. His professional life was not just about his own success, but also about the lasting relationships he built and the community he served through his involvement in various associations.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tim was a man of many passions. An avid fisherman, he could often be found with a fishing rod in hand, enjoying the serenity of nature and the thrill of the catch. His love for classic cars was more than a hobby—it was a reflection of his appreciation for craftsmanship and nostalgia. Woodworking allowed Tim to express his creativity and his hands-on approach to life, crafting pieces that were as functional as they were beautiful.

Tim's home was a reflection of the things he cherished most; it was not uncommon to see him tending to his beloved dogs and chickens, creatures that brought him immense joy and companionship. His home and heart were always open, and his warmth was felt by all who crossed his threshold.  A family man at his core, Tim's love story with his wife of over 47 years, Charlott King, was one for the ages. Their enduring partnership was a testament to their shared values and commitment to one another. Together they raised their daughter, Christina "Chrissy" Bates (Geoff); instilling in her the same qualities of intelligence, love, and faith that defined Tim's own life.

Tim's legacy is one of a life well-lived, marked by the positive impact he had on those around him. He was the embodiment of a life guided by faith, one that shone brightly and touched the lives of many. Tim's intelligence was not just in his thoughts, but in his actions and the wise counsel he provided to those he loved. His loving nature was evident in the way he cared for his family, the kindness he extended to friends, and the compassion he showed to animals.

Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Melanie Atkins and brother, Mike King.

He is survived by his wife, Charlott King, daughter, Christina Bates (Geoff), granddaughter, Taylor Johnson (Nathan), grandson, Caleb Bates (Erica), brother, Stephen King, brother, Terry King, brother in law and sister in law, Bobby and Faith Gunter, nephew, Robby Gunter, great grandchildren, Graysen, Chase, Andrew and Wrenley, niece, Tina Manglona (Jesse).

As we remember Timothy Paul King, we celebrate a man whose life was a reflection of the values he held dear. He was a beacon of love and faith, a pillar in his community, and a devoted husband and father. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew him, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
