Weyman Anderson Obituary
SFC (Ret.) Weyman Anderson, 92, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, November 11, 2018 at his residence in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA 31907 with Dr. Jimmy Elder officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 5:00 till 7:00pm.
Mr. Anderson was born November 27, 1925 in Ft. Benning, GA son of the late Goldman Anderson and Eron Newman Anderson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Adela Cabrera Anderson. Mr. Anderson retired from the U. S. Army after 20 years of dedicated service serving in WWII, Korea and Viet Nam receiving numerous commendations. He was a member of Ft. Benning Masonic Lodge # 579, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry of Columbus and Al Sihah Shrine Temple of Macon. After retiring from the U. S. Army, Mr. Anderson owned several successful businesses in Richmond, VA. He was also member of First Baptist Church of Columbus. We will remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfather who was always thinking of others.
He is survived by his four daughters, Ava Carol Grossnickle, Williamson, GA; Charlotte Reeves, Pensacola, FL; Adela Michelle (Curtis) Taylor, and Angel Patricia (Omar) Gould, all of Columbus; 1 son, Michael Andrew (Jennifer) Heath, Columbus; special niece/caregiver, Ema Stout, Columbus; 8 grandchildren, Pappy, David, Rick, Cyndi, Tina, Kim, Clinton, and Randy; 20 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.
